Home grown, home dried, home processed, home packaged.  True fact ya'll, here are some bodacious home grown and super fresh spices.  Here's a little local flavor from my side of the Blue Ridge Mountains to you wherever you are.  Since I grow everything from seed and picking all the stems out is super labor intensive, the quantities are very limited.  It's small batch spices.  Bear with me as I run out of things one at a time. 
    I'm pretty much really excited about these spice blends.  They are delicious and they make everything else delicious.  A few uses: seasoning for roasted vegetables, popcorn topping, dry rub for meats, fancy eggs, exciting dipping oil, amazing garlic bread, stir fries, enchiladas, soup base, etc, etc, etc...

BLUE RIDGE

Salt, Sage, Oregano, Fish Pepper, Lemon Thyme, Parsley, Thai and Lemon Basil

Description: This is the wild card of my spice blends - not really reminisscent of any particular region of the world, so I claimed it for our own.  Fish Pepper is a gorgeous heirloom from the Chesapeake Bay, traditionally used on fish, hence the name.

SAVOR

 Ingredients: Aji Dulce Pepper, Parsley, Rosemary, Oregano, Sage, Thai Basil
Uses:     Popcorn! Pilaf, roasted chicken, bruschetta, quiche, sautéed green beans with garlic, anything with olives or feta. Very predominately Aji Dulce pepper... so you know it's remarkable

ITALY-ISH

Genovese Basil, Oregano, Thyme, Sage, and Rosemary,
Uses:      Um, so, definitely all kinds of pasta dishes, roasted tomatoes, herby cream cheese, frittata, garlic bread... all things Italian.  Combine 1 Tbs Italy-Ish with 1 c good olive oil for a delicious dipping oil for bread

ADVENTURE SPICE

I can't even tell you how excited I am about this new blend.

Salt, Sundried Tomato, Smoked Sweet Carmen Pepper, Mentucchia, Garlic, Lovage, Jalapeno, Thai Basil, Lemon Basil

Uses:  Quinoa & goat cheese salad, roast chicken breast, olive oil for dipping bread, frittata, roasted chickpeas, lentil & feta salad, tzatziki yogurt and cucumber sauce, etc.

SPICY SICILIAN

For the love of all things Sicilian. 
Ingredients: Salt, Onion, Sundried Tomatoes, Smoked Green Ancho, Garlic, Smoked Anaheim, Smoked Chipotle, Rosemary

Uses: Divine on pasta, in olive oil as a bruschetta, on eggs, popcorn, roasted sweet potato fries, you name it.  And any kind of meat, of course.

BARCELONA

Sweet smokey peppers and allium flavor.  Fabulous and less spicy than Spicy Sicilian.
Ingredients: Salt, Smoked Sweet Carmen Pepper, Onion, Parsley, Garlic Greens, Smoked Green Ancho, Criolla Sella Pepper

Uses:  Absolute favorite on avocado.  Try it on asparagus, cucumbers, cold pasta salads, corn, etc.  Less lovage than in previous years due to excessive heat and drought this summer.

RIVANNA

Onion, Green Garlic Bulb, Lemon Basil, Dill Seed, Fish Pepper, Lemon Thyme

Uses:  Great for cooking fish, hence I've named it after a local river.  Also good on potatoes, beets, cabbage and Eastern European fare.

Uses:     Classic poultry seasoning, and appropriate for fall and winter fare.  Try this blend on roasted root vegetables, pork chops, stuffing, potato gratin, olive oil, chicken soup... you get it...
